W3 Professorship in English Linguistics
starting in the 2012 Summer Term.
The candidate will be responsible for research and teaching in theoretical linguistics with a specialization in phonology, complementing the existing areas of morphology, syntax and semantics. Competence in empirical and experimental methods relating to phonology is desirable. The research profile of the candidate should fit into the interdisciplinary nature of the Linguistics Department in Stuttgart (http://www.uni-stuttgart.de/linguistik/); the candidate is also expected to contribute to the close cooperation between Linguistics and Natural Language Processing. Participation is expected in the Collaborative Research Project (Sonderforschungsbereich 732), Incremental Specification in Context (see:
http://www.uni-stuttgart.de/linguistik/sfb732/), as well as in other projects related to language and cognition (see: http://www.fsk.uni-stuttgart.de/). Experience in obtaining third-party funding and an international presence is desirable.
